pre plumbed basement questions

I'm sure this has been posted before but I am in the beginning of finishing my basement and there is a bathroom. question one if I can see water in the bottom of the 1 1/2" line does that mean there is already a p trap? question two there is no stub out for a sink can I tie into the nearest vent line witch I'm pretty sure is for the toilet and bath?

Hello and welcome to the forums....

Yes water in a pipe in floor should dictate a trap... But often it would be 2" if for a shower... For a tub the trap is left out and hooked up later...

Yes the sink line is always the vent in most circumstances...

But to be 100% sure of what you have there pictures would be best... Or some type of drawing...

it is 1 1/2" pipe I checked the label and I can see water in the bottom there is enough room for a full bath. can I assume that I can cut this pipe down and put a T on to get to the drain and overflow?

No.... If there is a trap then the waste and overflow fit right into this pipe... need to cut it down and add a trap adapter... That is if it lines up with the tub drain...

The waste and overslow for the tub will look like this... The waste and oveflow tube should slip right into the 1 1/2 pipe...

Cut the pipe down some and add a trap adapter to the 1 1/2 pipe... Glues to the pipe...

If its off then you will need to dig down and add 45's to offset it some...
