installing new pop up drain in bathroom sink

This message relates to one that I posted last night. Should have edited that one but hope this isn't to confusing....

Installed new Delta faucets in bathroom sink and pop up drain assembly. Cannot get the drain to stop leaking but do I have the wrong pop up assembly,

My sink is a cultured marble without an overflow. The Delta pop up has it holes in it for an overflow. Is this why it keeps leaking at the bottom of the sink. Do I need to get a popup without these holes in it.

My other bathroom sinks have an overflow and I installed them with out a problem.

Any advice of this would be helpful.

thanks

Harlan

If I remember your previous post I think you said that you applied the silicon and let it set then put the drain in place. You should apply the silicon and then immediatley assemble the drain.
