Dishwasher drain line problem

Hope i'm in the right forum for this. I just replaced the tailpiece under my kitchen sink. The branch for the dishwasher drain on the old one was of a smaller diameter than the one on the replacement. And it looks like the guys who installed my dishwasher cut the rubber coupling away on the drain line so it would fit the small diameter branch. So now i'm stuck with a dishwasher drain hose that doesn't fit onto the new branch. Are there any adapter fittings I can use in this case or any other alternatives that don't require me to pull my dishwasher out and replace the entire drain line?

You might be able to slide a thin piece of rubber tubing onto the tailpiece fitting and then slide the dishwasher hose over that.

I find when I go to Home Depot or some such store, these days, they literally have fittings in 3 different designs for almost all possible concoctions and sizes.

Unless I am having a bad day and then they have a fitting for every possible size except the one I need. lol.

Anyway, the guy/girl there can probably help you out if you tell them what you need.

Thanks all. in the end decided it needed to be done properly, no shortcuts, so i bit the bullet and pulled out the dw. i realize most forum members have a degree of diy experience, but not me. this was a major leap of faith for me. but happy to say i appear to have completed the task without breaking anything !
