Refrigerator Water Dispensing Assembly

We're replacing the Water Dispensing Assembly (AP3205548) on a GE GSS23SGSASS refrigerator. No directions came with the new part.

Question #1. Can the tubes plugged into each unit be removed and the tubes from the old unit be put into the new unit. Is there a way to keep new connections from leaking?

Question #2. If the old tubes are pulled out of the refrigerator, and the new tubes threaded in, how can we tell that they have reached their destination and are firmly attached?

Welcome to the forums.

I'm looking into some installation info for you. I'm guessing you got the part from Appliance Pros. I believe it should have come with some type of "push-in" tubing splicer(s).

Do you know if that's 1/4" or 5/16" plastic line ?
