Silcock and expandable foam?

I had to replace a outdoor spigot with a frost free silcock.

My brother who is a plumber is really riding me that I used expandable foam to seal the gap in the hole where there silcock exits my sillplate.

Is there any harm in expandable foam touching the stainless? steel 1/2" pipe of the new silcock?

What was his concern? If you left the foam exposed to sunlight,it will turn butt ugly, but it will insulate.

Maybe he was just giving me grief, but he said the expandable foam will cause the stainless? silcock to corrode and eventually leak/burst.

The chrome or stainless part is just a sleeve correct? Theres copper under it I assume?

I don't know of a chemical in dried foam that would react with the finish.

It's just chrome plated and it's not going to corrode anything.
