removing a water spigot

There's a water spigot on the side of my house that's broken, but it leaks. It's so old and has so much built up on it, I'm nervous to remove it in fear of twisting or breaking the line attached to it.

Any advice on how to do this without having to tear down my wall? Ol

Is there a crawl or basement? You have to find out how its connected to the pipe before you continue....

And what pipe material. Copper, steel...etc

Impossible to tell from that picture how it's even attached to the line.
Any access under the house?
