Patio Gas Pipe Clogged?
House is 50 yrs old with cement floors incl the patio floor. I have owned the house for 40 years with no gas problems of any kind. Patio is not covered.
I have never used the gas pipe coming up into the patio. The cap was rusted on and took a cheater bar to get it off. No gas came out! The pipe is filled with rust or something.
Any instructions how to make it work would be appreciated.
Thanks. Tom

Welcome to the forums.
If the pipe is full of rust it's going to need to be replaced.
If just the outside end was rusted you could disconnect it from inside and send compressed air thru while trying to work thru the rust.
There isn't an easy way around to clear the pipe if it has major internal rust issues.

Thanks PJ for the fast post.
Sounds like I should abandon the project because only about an inch of pipe is showing and the pipe would surely break anyhow because of rust.
I hoped blowing it out would be enough, but I don't want to start a leak in the cement.
I will try plan #2, running pipe under the eaves from outside water heater. It is fed with 3/4" pipe. Sound good ? I hope I can get away with 1/2" pipe for the next 35'. This would make a total of about 95' (stove, water heater, and now clothes dryer.)
