double ring on compression fitting

I have seen some compression fittings that have an outside ring AND an inside ring to support it as well as the nut to compress it.Can you commonly find these kind of compression sets and do they work better than the single ring type?? say for 3/4 inch copper..

I have only seen fittings with an inside and outside piece for use on plastic tubing. With copper I've only used ones with a ferrule on the outside.

I can't imagine the inner ring doing anything on copper pipe. I assume it's there for plastic pipe similar to SharkBite fittings. On the SharkBite fittings, you can pull the inner support ring out if connecting rigid pipe.

I personally haven't seen compression fittings like you're talking about - I would want to be sure they are actually made for copper pipe.
