Basement Toilet Drains Extremely Slow - Shower/Sink/Laundry Drain Fine
About 1 year ago we had issues with our basement toilet flushing, usually the first flush was ok then could not flush again for at least a few hours. Ended up taking off toilet and used a snake - no apparent blockage but it seemed to fix the issue.....
Now a year later same problem. Except taking off the toilet and snaking the toilet has not worked. All other plumbing in the house has no issues including the sink/shower/laundry that are all beside the toilet in the basement.
Additional background: when taking off the toilet I could still see the water level in the main drain...even when snaking the line water level remained and only slowly disappeared after 1 hour or so. Typically the toilet will flush once per day only.
What I don't understand when snaking the line it does not seem to have any obstructions in the way and the shower and sink drain with no issues.
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

The line for the toilet may have been installed without the proper fall. In that case no amount of snaking will improve it and because it's level it will always be prone to clogging and slow draining.
What type of snake are you using and how large is the tip? Another option is that you are using too small a tool and even though it's passing through it may not be removing the clog. A toilet drain line really needs a power auger with a tip at least a couple inches in diameter. A hand drain rod can sometimes get it with someone experienced but a powered auger or jetter is better.
