Water coming up from vinyl tile in basement bathroom
I noticed today that in front of the vanity in our basement bathroom that water comes up when you step on the tile. I have called a plumber to come in the morning, but I wanted to know what the heck could be causing it. It seems like it is isolated to 2 ft area so I suspect that it might be an issue with a leaky pipe below. We don't use this bathroom all to often so I'm certain it's not the shower.
Any advice?

Pipes
Re-route the pipes so you do not have pipes under the floor.
I had this happen in my basement where galvanized pipes were embedded in the concrete floor. I re-piped so all pipes are above the floor.

Sounds like a slab leak.. You will need a leak detector to find it. Then break up the slab and repair.
Or find the manifold in the wall and reroute to the attic and pipe to the bath from above. Its very simple..
With no water in the home running, look at your water meter... Does it spin? If it does turn off the hot water heater valve. Does it stop? If not turn off the main water valve... Does it stop then?
