Brass for Natural Gas

Can I use brass fittings and shut off valve for my outdoor grill? I have black pipe from the basement through the foundation wall and thought that brass would be better outdoors. Thanks for your help.

I don't see why not. Look at the valve and fittings on a portable propane tank...brass.

Yes, brass if fine although black steel fittings that have a coat of oil-based enamel are also fine. For the valve make sure it has the AGA (American Gas Association) symbol on it.
