How can I re thread a pipe

I have a metal pipe inside wall on my shower (it is the pipe that the shower tap threads into) and it is stripped.Can I re thread and if so how?

Do you mean the pipe from the faucet to the shower arm? Probably not. Best to replace it.

It probably cannot be re-tapped. That fitting is 90 degrees so a pipe tap would likely bottom out on the back of the fitting before it could go deep enough to cut new treads. If you can borrow a tap I would give it a try but I don't think the chance is good enough to go buy a tap.

Really want to take the chance of a leaking hidden fitting behind a wall?
Replace it.

Replace what is bad . That stuff is not that expensive .
