New Garbage disposal humming, not jammed

The old one stopped 2 weeks ago, it was humming and since it was more than 10 years old I thought to replace it with a new one.

Plumber bought badger 500 1/2 hp and installed it 2 weeks ago where it worked fine. Last night, it stopped, same problem as old one (humming and burning smell, but not jammed), so I used the wrench to twist it and went throw without any problem. I checked the power outlet using a reader and it read 120V. (when turn on the switch)

also, cleaned the disposal and didn't find any hard object or anything.

I thought someone has an input before I return it.

Thanks.

It is very rare that a new ISE Badger 5 would not work.
I would wait for more responses. It's possible one of the Mods may move this to electrical.

A humming indicates to me the motor is jammed, but you said motor spins using hex wrench provided with unit?

Also: ISE has an in-home warranty, you do not need to remove unit, they will come to you if you suspect a bad unit.
