A few questions about pex sizes for a newbie

I am remodeling my 1262 sq.f.t 1949 home. I'd like to replace all of the supply lines and use a home-run system with a manifold. I've used pex before but do not know what sizes are needed at different places in the house. Correct me where I'm wrong: I run 3/4" pex from the main water supply and split it just before the hot water heater. Then I run the 3/4" hot and cold into the manifold. Then 1/2" to all of the fixtures? Thanks!!

That sounds like a good plan.

Using the blue and red tubing is very helpful for keeping track of hot and cold. Otherwise make sure you label each run as hot or cold. It's amazing how easy it is to forget or have tubing flop over and you loose track.
