AAV for utility tub
I'm getting ready to install a temporary utility tub in the basement of my house. It's only temporary until I can finish the rest of the basement. I have a drain rough in (for a wetbar) that already exists and I intend to use it for the temporary utility tub.
What I'm wondering is can I use an AAV for the vent or do I need to connect to the main stack. I ask because I don't know of the exact location of the future pipes (bathroom is going in the basement as well eventually) and it would be nice to not have to run the vent pipe.
.....moved thread to plumbing forum.

OK if code allows it...

Yeah there is a proper 2" vent that is a ways away for the bath. I'm just trying to avoid running a proper vent all the way over to it until I know where all the plumbing will end up. I'll take some pics when able.

Here are the pictures. The drain and feed rough ins are circled in one. The vent is circled in the other. The vent is about 10' from the drain with the furnace between them. I know getting to the vent can be done, just wondering if it's worth the hassle since I'll have to run the bathroom into that same vent. Thanks!

Take a pic of that.. Maybe you arlready have in a previous post IDK.. What I would do is pipe properly to the vent .
But I would at least put up the one wall with the sink line.. Like your going to do the bath...
Do you plan on putting in the laundry sink without a wall and just standing there?
If so then do the AAV..
Im just not sure your exact plans...

I'll post a pic later tonight of the rough in. Right now I am just going to put the sink where the wetbar drain is (what is pictured). In a year or so we plan to do the rest of the basement and I'll move the sink at that point and drain it with the bathroom sink. This was just meant to be a quick and dirty sink. Right now we have no water in the basement and that really blows.
