Leaking water service valve/plumbing

Separated from http://www.doityourself.com/forum/pl...sion-pipe.html

Please help. Not sure what to do. Called a plumber and he wouldn't touch it. Said anything north of the top valve is the city's problem. So I called 311 last night been waiting over 15 hours. Called DEP this morning and they have my ticket. Commented that someone would be here by 3pm. Called back 311 and they tell me to call 911?!?

Any advice?

Thanks in advance,
David

Welcome to the forums, David. I moved your post into its own thread to increase visibility. Can you explain what's actually happening?

Thank you so much Stick. Is there a way where I can post a video or picture?

Basically, there is a small leak right about my main water line in my basement. It's right above the two levers. I see some corrosion surrounding the area. Is this my responsibility or NYC? This plumber I called wouldn't touch it and now I'm just waiting. I have a large bucket catching the water now.

I couldn't load the video. There is water leaking from about the white area.

Thanks,
David

Started as a trickle but now it's starting to come down a little faster. I have a bucket catching the water. I dump the water every 2 hours now

Can't quite tell from the pictures but it looks like the leak is in your side of the meter. It looks like the city line comes in at the bottom.

Called another plumber. Any idea what a rough estimate would be?

No real way to give an estimate. Everything looks to be in good shape except that upper pipe.
I'd be happy if I could get out with a $200 - 300 bill. We'll see.
