I know this topic has come up before but I couldn't find a resolution that would work for me. I just had granite installed with an undermount sink. The new sink has put the garbage disposal below the drain. As you can tell from the pictures the sink plumbing is a little different as there are two stem pipes going in the wall. They join a horizontal pipe that runs to a half bath. This creates the issue that I can't lower the drain pipe without affecting the drain in the bathroom or tearing out a whole wall and all the new cabinetry.

The bottom of the drain outlet is at 7" and the bottom of the Garbage disposal is at 8". Is the a disposal that has a higher drain or are there any other options other than no disposal. I really need to keep it as the house is for sale and listed with it.

P.S. Don't know why the one picture keeps rotating.
Please help ASAP.

Thanks in advance to all you with much more experience than meAttachment 62625Attachment 62626Attachment 62627

I suspect that you won't like my answer but I suggest getting rid of the garbage grinder. Darn things are more trouble than they are worth in my opinion.

Also, a hint when posting multiple pictures, do a double line feed (hit enter two times) between pictures so they don't run together.

Capping off one trap and and feeding the garbage disposal horizontally to the other bowel tail piece may give you room.

Did not know about the one trap rule, but the other drain is still too high. Its at the same level. So while I can fix that issue still not sure what to do about the garbage disposal. Do they make one with a higher outlet or are they all standard?

If it still doesn't work I don't have an easy solution. Not installing a garbage disposal is probably easier. Check first where the cross piece will come out if run straight across. Almost looks like it would work.

And I was wrong. The way it was plumbed was okay but I still suggest running the garbage disposal discharge to the right if it will give you enough room. It can stay where it is if you can find a disposal that fits.

The Evolution compact disposal outlet is about 11/16 higher than their normal series. The spec sheet says 6" from bottom of sink to center line of drain outlet. The full size evolution is 6 11/16. Can't tell if this would be enough for you. Other than that one, not aware of any decent disposals that are shorter. It's a continuous feed, so you need a switch.

But don't install the disposal if the bottom of the outlet is any lower than the centerline of the trap arm or you will always have water in the chamber stinking things up. Ideally, bottom of outlet is higher than top of trap arm.

In addition to the Evolution Series disposer mentioned, change the trap to a slip tube PVC rather than the ABS you have.
The slip tube trap is a little lower than the ABS, and you are very close to making this work.

To use a slip tube trap, you need to cut off the existing stub out and glue on a PVC female trap adapter.

Note: Don't bother looking for a disposer with a higher discharge outlet than the evolution, there are none.
