Brown stain in toilet bowl
This started about a month ago. Before that no issue.
Water supply is from the city water. Supply lines inside the house is copper from 1960s.
Starting about a month ago toilets in both bathroom begin developing a brown stain at the level of water in the bowls. While this is not a big deal, just a brush will clean it. I am wondering what might have caused the change?
Could the city water has suddenly turn more "hard" with iron minerals? Is it because something is corroding in the supply lines?

The city may have changed it's source of water. Have you contacted them to find out what may have changed?

I have the same problem here..... in the toilets and it also affects the pool. Our problem here is the mineral manganese. Basically iron and it leaves reddish brownish rust stains.
Our town has four major wells. One has high manganese content. I can always tell when they switch that well in.
