NPT and BSP [British Standard Pipe] Compatibility
Can G1/2" fittings be used with NTP threads? So far in my small and unprofessional poll about half say thread angle and depth make them incompatible, the other half say the combination works fine. It's for a shower supplied by a pump so pressure isn't critical other than some being required, more being desirable.

From my brief Google searching, I found,
Ralston Instruments - Made in the USA
So it sounds like it will work for your application.
I'll admit to having zero experience with BSP threaded pipe.
An NPT male will fit into a BSPT fitting or vice versa but they will not seal. ... Thread sealant is needed to seal the male and female fitting together.

I'll try it...maybe a couple of times before dry-walling and painting...if it doesn't work I'll get a few very expensive G thread 1/2" female to NPT thread 1/2" male adapters (http://www.amazon.com/Thread-Female-...to+npt+adapter).
Is there a particularly good thread sealant or is thread seal tape good at such things?
Thanks Zorfdt

I would suggest a hardening type of sealant, definitely NOT Teflon tape. Locktite makes a few different hardening type sealants and there is always the old standby of Permatex number one.
