hi guys!
I will be tying into the 3" floor drain which leads to the stack.
Does anybody have a good schematic or photos of their similar basement rough in? I will be adding a Toilet and Shower.
Easy job to do but I just need the "map" of how to do it!
thanks in advance

I don't know if there's a 'standard' layout, since it all depends on the placement of the fixtures. But in a nutshell, you'll have:
- 3" drain from the toilet to the stack
- Wye off the 3" drain to a 2" pipe to the shower p-trap
- Wye off the 3" drain to a 1.5" pipe to the bathroom sink
- Wye off the 3" drain for a 2" vent
- 1.5" vent from the bathroom sink, vertical until 42" high (or higher) and connect (back-vent) to the 2" vent
- Run the 2" vent up through the attic and out the roof.
We can provide more details if you can show a drawing of your fixture layout and where the stack is currently. Also, are you sure you have a 3" floor drain? It's not typical to have that large a floor drain, though anything is possible.
Also - note that I (and many of us) can help with US plumbing codes, you may need to confirm they match Canadian plumbing codes. (Many codes are similar, though there are often some minor 'gotchas')
I'm not convinced anything having to do with breaking up concrete is 'easy'

Zorfdt - thanks for the detailed reply
here are some photos which I hope explain the layout.
X (right hand side) is the shower drain (possible pocket toilet - X on the LEFT).
I want to connect that into the 3" floor drain.
The vent line is to the right of the laundry Sink, and ready to tap into so I can vent these new plumbing fixtures.
Now 2 scenarios:
1) I just do the shower as pictured
2) I do a toilet to the left of the shower (in the picture with 2 Xs)
What is the best way to plumb the drainage / venting? I am also hoping it will meet with Canadian , Toronto code
thanks in advance for any helpful tips
