problem with the seat for a tub drain plunger. how is it best fixed?
So for some background, I've had a tub that doesn't hold water (slow drain) for a couple of years. tried cleaning, liquid drain cleaners, snaking it and changing the trip lever assembly.
I finally ended up using an inspection camera. Turns out that the seat where the plunger sits, has a little bit of indentation/damage/jagged edge, which makes sense that nothing has worked so far.
I'm assuming replacing the Tee is order. Is this correct?
If so, what should I be looking for? I didnt see one at HD, but also didnt ask. was just looking around
The tub is on the second floor, and the plumbing can be accessed via an adjacent closet.
if replacing the waste tee is the best thing, how difficult would that be for a DYI project? am I better off hiring a pro?
thanks

Replacing the tub bits is normally a real pain in the neck. If you have access then that would be the proper fix. Personally I would just get a new tub stopper if your only goal is to get the tub to hold water. There are some that screw in from the top side and you press them down to seal and press again and it pops up to let the water drain. Much cheaper and easier than cutting through a wall.
