New basement bathroom draining problems
Hey guys, I hope someone can help me.
I just had my basement finished and built a full shower bath. Whenever I flush the toilet, sometimes it doesn't flush and I see water back flowing out of the shower!!
Also, I hear this clicking sound whenever I run the water in the basement!! Here is a picture of where the clicking is coming from... it's this black rubber connection between the pvc pipes leading to the water pump ejector that clicks whenever I run water in the basement from either flushing the toilet, using the bathroom sink, or using the slop sink!!! It sounds like water fills up then clicks past this black rubber area.... It's weird....
I have no clogs throughout the house. My bathroom on 1st floor and 2nd floor, drains perfect and fast with no hesitation. It's just the basement. I think the plumber connected the pvc pipes wrong???
Please help..

NO ONE!?
In the last picture where you see the black rubber connection is where the BANGING happens! When i use water in the basement only, that pipe with the black rubber BANGS and vibrates when water is going through. That pipe leads to the water pump... WhAT COULD BE CAUSING this?
All these pipes were just put in. Im guessing this is also the reason why my toilet doesnt flush or flushes sometimes very weak and water comes out the shower drain,,,
Please help

I am not versed on up flush systems, but if it is a fairly new installation, I would have the installer return to see what is happening. The Fernco fittings could possibly house a valve that is not closing properly when water passes it, thus the clicking noise.

I can't tell from the pictures how everything is plumbed together. I don't see any pictures of the pump/tank. Nor do I see any 3" piping that would be coming from the toilet. There's a 2" pipe that wyes up through the floor, but it shouldn't go to the shower since there should be a P-Trap on the shower.
That black fitting is likely a check valve - water can flow one direction but not the other.
There should be a clear run from the toilet to the pump, and no reason for the water to back up into the shower unless there's a clog or the holding tank is 'overflowing', neither which seem should be the case. I'm wondering if the piping wasn't run correctly?
I also see flexible supply hoses which I can't imagine what those are used for (though unlikely related to your problem). Additionally, what looks like electric heat tape is wrapped around the PVC pipes. Wrapped like that, it won't help with freezing pipes much. But again, another subject.

Zorft! I think i figured out the problem.
So as far as the toilet flushing slowly or not at all and water coming out of the shower drain, i think its related to the BANGING when I use the water...
So, the banging noise is coming from check VALVE right above the Ejector pump or SUMP pump...
I can put my hands on the PVC pipe with the black rubber check valve and feel it VIbrate as it makes the banging noise when the water passes.
The check valve is that black thing in the last picture. I am a newbie but i have alot of tools and I love DYI.... Is there anything i can do to fix this?
PLEASE ADVISE PROS!

Can you sketch out how everything is connected together? There's not much I can suggest to fix based on just the banging. I have a feeling that it's more than just a problem with the check valve.
