How to re-route drain pipe before installing a new vanity cab?
Hi,
I am replacing the cab in one of my bathes. Please check the pics.
The old one had a width of 24" and the new about 30". So I need to modify the drain pipe in order to fit the new cab.
Thinking about 2 approaches: 1) cutting off the pipe right after coming out of the wall; then remove part of the inside of the pipe by a special tool found in Youtube, so the inner diameter of the pipe got expanded to fit a new elbow;
2) taking a rubber elbow big enough to connect the drain pipe with hose clamps.
What do you think, guys?
Thanks in advance.

The easiest would be to cut the pipe after the elbow, leaving at least 3/4".
You can attach a trap or another elbow there and then a trap.
If that doesn't work, I would cut open the wall and replace the tee using no-hub couplers.

With a width difference of 6 inches, the drain difference will be 3 inches if the additional with is added to one side rather than being centered. Seems to me you could adjust the trap to handle this difference.
