Upstairs Shower Insert Drain Leak

Hello. So I need some advice before I go cutting into my basement ceiling. My shower stall drain is leaking and I though it would be a simple case of unscrewing the drain insert and installing a new one. But it seems like the drain insert, ABS drain pipe, and drain body have been glued together. I don't see a way to unscrew the insert. Am I missing something? Or do I really have to take down the ceiling to cut away at my ABS drain pipe to install a whole new assembly?

Not sure of the type drain you have, but I would go ahead, bite the bullet, cut the ceiling and remove the drain, cutting the ABS back to the lateral and reinstall a new drain and rebuild it from the ABS tail to the drain with a new trap.

Yeah, looks like that's what'll have to happen. Why replace the p-trap though, can I not cut back on the vertical and reconnect?
