Very Noisy Tap!
Whenever i run my basin tap in my upstairs bathroom it makes a really loud noise, unless it's running full power. I thought it would be trapped air but surely that can't be every time can it? any advice would be appreciated!

I would change the angle stops (valves) coming out of the wall and the faucet supply lines. Old washers inside the valve can disintegrate and block the flow of water.
Restricted flow, especially through a valve, can cause noise and shaking of pipes.
The same could apply to your faucet valves, they might be restricted and need replacing.

Here's a stop:
This is 1/2" nominal compression inlet (for use on copper) and is the most popular type.
Your house pipe might also be 1/2" pipe threads.

Thanks very much, I live in the UK so I'll have a look online for some low delivery cost options. I'm not the most handy but I'm not a complete stranger to a bit of handy work (more of a computer geek)... would I be better getting a professional after all or would it be an easy DIY after a couple of online tutorials?

The best thing to do is post a picture of the valve, here's a link:

A picture will show the level of difficulty.

Thanks!
Hey everyone, just wanted to say thanks for all your help, I'd actually forgotten I'd written this post and the problem was still driving me mad! A friend of mine recommended fitting this isolating valve https://www.drainagecentral.co.uk/Pl...solating-Valve , which is actually plastic, but it seems to have done the trick.
