toilet wax ring
Hi, I'm replacing a toilet. I've always used a wax ring seal, and never had a problem. Now I see a new polyurethane seal that's supposed to be the latest and greatest. I'm looking for opinions- anyone used one?
Thanks, Steve

Steve, it's gonna have to get more positive reviews for me to trust one as much as the wax rings. In theory they seem to work fine. Maybe the others have had more experience with them. Hang in there.

I just put in a new stool this year. I used a wax ring.
I have another which needs to be replaced and will be once I figure out whether I can replace the pedestal sink with a small vanity. I will be using a wax ring again.

Don't use the Danco Perfect Seal either. You will get a wonderful video explaining how it is the best thing since sliced bread, but it is just wishful thinking by companies what sell rings and don't install toilets.
Here is my review of it.

Use a $2 wax ring and forget about it.

Thanks for all the info, and links to other reviews. I guess I'll stick to the wax ring. Thanks, Steve
