Our backyard runs on a downhill slope. Septic water has surfaced at the end of our leach field.Someone has suggested a raised bed to solve the problem. Would a raised bed out of sand solve the problem? Our septic has been pumped out so I'm not sure how to handle this.

Cool

A raised bed of sand will probably solve that problem. Try about 12" at first before grass seed or sod. You may have to buld it up a little more.
Good Luck!

Leach field question

Thank you. Is the raised bed a temporary cure or long lasting?

Cool

Once it is deep enough to absorb all waste water below the surface, it should be permanent (or at least until the drainfield fails, as they all eventually do).
