Leak in basement pipe

Recently moved into house and discovered a minor water leak in the basement. It only leaks when we use one bathroom. I turned the knob and it stopped for 3-4 weeks. We went on vacation for 10 days, came back and used the bathroom 2-3 days and I found the leak again. Any idea what to do?

Cant tell from your description what is leaking, a supply line or a drain line, picture would really help show the problem.

Welcome to the forums! I agree, more description is needed and a picture would really help. Is the toilet IN the basement of above the basement? http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...your-post.html

You said you turned "the knob" but didn't say what the knob was. Was it the shutoff valve for the toilet? Was it the kitchen or tub faucet?

Try to narrow the problem down to one fixture in the bathroom. Does the leak occur when you use the sink, toilet or tub?
