No or very little water coming from Kitchen Faucet

Today I went to turn on the kitchen faucet and no water would come on on the cold or hot side. The sprayer that is separate and not on the faucet itself works. I tried it a couple of times after a while and it trickles very little. My tap in the bathroom works normally, as well as the bathtub. We had a new hot water tank installed last friday but the water has worked on this tap no problems at all until today. Any tips or advice on trouble shooting this, and is it likely caused in some way by the HWT install?

I feel silly after posting this, just did this:

Unscrew the aerator at the tip of the faucet and remove, then turn on water to see if pressure is good. Water is fine, new aerator. I googled this and never thought of that. LOL that was easy.

It sounds like trash got into the faucet although it's odd that the sprayer works and not the spigot. You might try disconnecting the water lines and see if anything drains out. Be sure to have a bucket and a towel handy.
