1 1/2 inch pvc drain question

I have a 90 degree elbow that goes into main vertical drain into a coupling that has no pipe left to cut so I can move the location of the elbow a little further away from the vertical drain pipe. Is there anything I can do when there's no meat left on a pipe to use because the 90 is right on to the coupling?

It's not ideal, but a 2" to 1-1/2" no-hub coupler will work.
The 2" side of the no-hub will fit loosely on the 1-1/2" hub, but will seal when tightened.

I would only recommend this when the pipes are open, like under a sink.

Not sure I am picturing this right, but you can cut it off flush to the coupling and then use a socket saver to ream out the stub of pipe from the coupling. Then glue in a longer piece.

Example: https://www.amazon.com/Jones-Stephen.../dp/B000HE9YS8

Let me hijack the thread a little.

Paul:
I haven't used the tool you linked to. I heard of them, and now I want one

Will this tool ream out a perfectly glued in pipe? I deal almost always with ABS, PVC is used for outdoors around here.

I've used mine maybe 5 times...so not an expert at all, but it has worked well each time. Takes a few minutes, and needs a strong drill, but does the job, and when you need it you need it! And I have used it (once) on ABS; worked fine on that too.

Can you leave the 90 deg elbow there and then offset the pipe using 22deg fittings?

If not, I would go the socket-saver route that Paul suggested.
