Question

I'm replacing a shower head and corroded shower arm. The problem is the shower arm is stuck in the threaded female opening of the pipe in the wall. There seems to be teflon tape in the threads. Is there something we can use to loosen the arm? I'm afraid to just keep cranking on it and maybe damage the pipe in the wall.

Thanks,

mj

Cool

Soak the threads overnight with WD-40, and use whatever force necessary to turn it out counter-clockwise.
If it breaks off, you can use an "easy-out" made for the purpose to remove the broken off pipe threads from the wall fitting.
Good Luck!
