Any point in enlarging venting?
If a current wet vent uses 1.5" waste pipe is there any point in enlarging the vent to 3" from the fixture increases? I had assumed that it would always be restricted to the equivalent of the 1.5" airflow no matter what...

There's really no benefit in enlarging a vent pipe. Only a small amount of air is needed to keep the pressure equalized, and that's provided by your 1.5" or 2" vent.
Why the interest in enlarging your vent? Are you experiencing any issues?

No issues yet. This wet vent connects directly to a septic tank and the septic installer recommended a 3" vent... Probably on the basis that most houses have a main vent stack of 3" or 4". There's no such thing in this house... probably wasn't a code requirement 30 years ago plus the rest of the house connects into an ejector pump.

The building main waste pipe is 3" (it's on a septic system).
There are 2 vents with AAV both 1.5" and a vent for the ejector pump, which is 2" but this is almost an isolated system since there is a check valve in the way.

I'm not sure that the AAVs count, since they're one-way vents, and the sump wouldn't count either due to the check. Hmmm. It might not be a bad idea to add a vent thru the roof somewhere.

Obviously you have to go through the header and bottom plate between floors to do that. Assume that's ok if it's not a load bearing wall.
