SearchFu not good - Where can I find (and what do I ask for)?

Hi,
Looking for a valve that will control (off/on) flow to a shower head.

What I'm specifically looking for is one like what the characters used in the TV show MASH to turn shower on/off. It was upstream from shower head and had a handle on it. Pull down - water off. Push up - water on.

Where can I find such?
WHAT is it called?

DO NOT WANT a self closing valve. They equal problems later.

Thanks
WolfBrother

They are called pull chain shower heads, but I haven't seen any that aren't self closing.

Lots of choices out there. Found this with a "spring loaded shower valve" search. Dunno why self closing shower valve wouldn't work as well.

Gunguy45 - your link got me to a good place.

I found that it's called a "stay open valve".

A bit more expensive than I thought it would be.

Here is what I wound up finding https://www.amazon.com/Speakman-SE-9.../dp/B0018L9BPK

I will probably be able to bubba engineer something from a regular quarter turn valve.

Thanks guys,
WB

Well, you must be wanting it for some industrial application then. The ones I saw were more like $35-40.

Ohhh, sorry, I only read part of your post and then the replies. I looked for completely the wrong thing. And I guess I mis-remembered the shower in MASH, coulda sworn they were self closing. Ehh, probably some prison or bootcamp movie I was thinking of.
