Exterior faucet leak under the top cap
This is a picture of my exterior faucet which I just unscrewed and took off the cap.
I have a leak coming from the o-ring (I believe it is) that is seen around the little grey ball in the hole (center of the white part).
Not sure if the white threaded part can be removed to access the broken part.
Just wanted to know if this can be repaired by replacing only what causes the leak.
Thanks.

That white plastic piece unscrews. You will find a piece in there with a washer on it. The washer can be flipped and may stop the leak.
Or a new washer may be needed.
Or that plastic piece is hung up in there and needs to be re-positioned.
Last that piece that unscrews may be cracked. But that usually happens after the winter.
