Sharkbite elbow on hot water baseboard problem

I'm temporarily installing baseboards for the winter while we continue construction. Subfloors are down but not finished floors, so we don't want the baseboards damaged when we put the floors down (they will be in the way too) and I don't know the finished floor heights.
So... I want to run stubs up from the basement (a little long) and then use Sharkbite elbows to attach the baseboards so that they can be easily removed and replaced when the floors are done.
The problem: one end of each baseboard is flared to be a female end. So how can I get a Sharkbite on that end since I don't have room for a stub within the baseboard enclosure? I thought of cutting off the female end, but am hesitant.
Thanks guys!

If that is the case there is no shark bite fitting, or any other type of fitting, that will temp connect to it.
Cut it off or solder in a stub!
