Floating Switch Failure

Hi - I own a PacificHydroStar submersible pump. . .unfortunately the floating switch exploded. I was wondering if youve ever heard of these switches exploding. please advise. thank you.

I've never heard of it but I don't deal with those pumps on a regular basis. It sounds like the seal let water enter the switch.

Welcome to the forums.

They explode when high voltage is applied directly across them. If you had a short in the pump.... that switch would close into a short and..... bang!

I don't think water inside would cause it to explode.
