Seeking advice -wall leaking when toilet flushes

Yesterday, about half way through the day, water started coming from a wall/bottom of wall/ floor in the basement. When we flush the toilet on the main floor, the basement toilet makes a *glug* sound, and water starts coming from the wall about 2 feet away. The basement toilet does not refill with water in the bowl either. It also leaks when water goes down the shower drain on our main floor too. Any ideas what this could be? No water is around the toilets. Just from one point in the wall/floor.

You've got a leak. There may be a hole rusted through the drain pipe or a connection has come loose. Time to open up the wall and locate the leak.

I'd vote for a leak and a clog - because of the glugging sounds... but either way, Pilot Dane is spot-on, the wall has to be opened up to figure out where the leak is coming from.

Post back once you've found it or if you have other questions.

If your toilet had been installed a wax ring with funnel, you may see this issue. When you repurchase wax ring to seal the toilet bottom, simply buy one without plastic funnel.

Best
