Testing Wilkins 720a Pressure Vacuum Breaker

Hi Guys, I bought a repair kit for this breaker and installed it as the parts were disinigrated from 11 years of use and the top was leaking.

Its all installed. So now, how do I test the breaker to make sure it works, not allowing back flow. I looked on line and there is a long video of some guy using all this equipment and a big pressure gage to measure.

Is there a simple way for a home owner to know if back flow is being prevented.

Most vacuum breakers will piss water out when first turned on before it seals. When the water is turned off .... as the pressure reduces.... water will come out of the head. Also once the water is turned off..... if you open the drain valve.... the valve should gurgle as it allows air in.

The typical problem with those valves is they don't seal under pressure.
