drip from valve

Hopefully the photo has attached. My browser is acting funny.

There is a driop coming from the valuve in the photo, just a few drips per day.

Is this a sign of a larger problem? Or can it be fixed by a simple DIYer with a gentle tightening of the part where the drip is coming from with a wrench?

Yes, give it a slight turn, it should stop the drip.

Thanks! So that's not a sign of a valve about to explode? It is at a rental property and we may not get there for several weeks. Is it okay to just let it drip a few times a day until then?

The water flowing through a tiny gap can erode the valve seat if left leaking long enough. If you are there now I would go ahead and tighten it.

Nothing terribly wrong, no. Those valves are often put on finger tight... so a drip there is not too surprising.

Thank you, everyone! I appreciate the help. I'm not there now (tenant sent the photo), but perhaps they or a neighbor would be willing to give it a shot.
