Exclamation Gas pipe and HW baseboard pipe

A couple of months ago I replaced some HW baseboard copper pipe. Just today in the basement I saw that in the one area in a half-width joist bay where there's a lot going on, the copper pipe was touching a steel gas pipe where they cross perpendicularly. I was very careful running pipe, but I imagine there was a little movement when soldering.

I was able to pry the copper away about 1/16th of an inch.

It seems like this isn't a big deal since it's been fine with a hot pipe making contact for a couple of months now, but maybe it isn't. Of course, the gas getting warm will raise the pressure a little.

Should I be concerned with the 1/16th gap and potential future movement causing contact?

Thanks guys!

Copper water lines should not touch steel gas lines.
If there's a risk of them touching again..... put a piece of rubber between them.

I did put rubber in. Is it just a galvanic thing or is heat a factor?

I don't believe heat is an issue, since you're really only dealing with relatively low temperatures. Really the issue is galvanic corrosion - mostly of the copper pipe.
