Sewer clean out in middle of driveway
The house we moved into has a cleanout in the middle of the driveway. The previous owner s lost the over for the clean out. and I am trying to find a replacement.
The Clean out fitting in the driveway appears to take a threaded plug but I am unsure of the correct diameter plug to order. The diameter of the clean out is 5.75in in diameter thread tip to tread tip. Does this correspond to a 5in plug or 6in plug? From the dimensions I have been able to look up 5in seems slightly too small while 6in is to large.
Can't imagine that it is a special size?

I'm assuming this is PVC?
Maybe this link will help you out. It looks like a 5 5/8" OD plug is for a 5" pipe.

They are usually available in PVC and brass. For a driveway I would choose brass for it's extra strength.

Thanks Guys. None of the big box stores around here have plugs better than 4in.
No clue what the original plug was made of but eh fitting in the driveway is cast and as pointed out, brass would be better for strength.
I will try calling aourndto some of the other hardware/plumbing stores to see if I can get one the correct size

Ok. it is definitely not 6in. but can't find a 5in treaded plug any where. Hart to order one only to find out it doesn't fit..

The PVC plugs and their metal counterparts should be the same size and threads. So you can use PVC to find the correct size. I have a feeling it's not a standard plumbing fitting and takes a proprietary sized plug.
