waterproofer buried pipe fitting
HI, we had some basement waterproofing done recently to fix cracks in slab. Where the main water supply comes into the house, there was formerly a metal pipe fitting just above the floor. When I came downstairs after they finished, they had buried the fitting. The heavy plastic pipe now goes straight into the new concrete. Is this a problem/should it be fixed so fitting is accessible? The 'before' pic is attached, with supply pipe on the right next to sump pump.

That piece of metal pipe is just a sleeve to protect the plastic pipe when it comes thru the concrete slab. Covering that over with cement shouldn't present any problems.

They could have have extended it but it wouldn't really serve any purpose.
It's not like you could pull a new pipe thru the sleeve anyway.

I’m was referring to the requirement for protection of pipe passing through the concrete. I don’t think the black poly is allowed to be in direct contact with the concrete. For example:
305.1 Corrosion.
Pipes passing through concrete or cinder walls and floors or other corrosive material shall be protected against external corrosion by a protective sheathing or wrapping or other means that will withstand any reaction from the lime and acid of concrete, cinder or other corrosive material. Sheathing or wrapping shall allow for expansion and contraction of piping to prevent any rubbing action. Minimum wall thickness of material shall be 0.025 inch (0.64 mm).

As far as I know... that is referring to metal pipes.... like steel and copper.
The black poly shouldn't be affected with corrosion problems.
