Hello everyone. So as the title says I'm having issues with water leaking in to my basement at times when some one takes a shower(happens when one of the 3 people that live here showers and it's never happened with me cause I check every time I shower which is usually once a day). I thought it might be a leak in some of the piping, but after inspecting the bathroom completely I've noticed that the water is most likely leaking from the handheld shower head I have being sprayed on the door which looks like it's going down the frame and in to the basement. My question is what would be the best kind of caulk to use and would it be wise to just completely re-seal the entire bathroom? The house is fairly old(built in the early 70's) and the ugly bathroom slab(no joke it's one giant slab) is the original one that came with the house. The standing shower was put in by the previous owner of the house and he was one of those guys that thought he could do every thing when it's obvious he can't cause the electrical wiring was a mess cause when I moved in the front of the house had to be re-wired. Last question I have is, is there any way I can "dry" or "treat" where it has been leaking down? I can't see where it's coming from when I use a flash light and I'd have to rip up the floor to even get a good estimation of the possible damage. I apologize in advance if some thing didn't make sense as this is the first house I've owned so the do-it-yourself home repair is still a bit new to me. So I installed some stop taps under my sink as I was installing a mixer tap to replace a conventional one. I thought it would be fairly easy, but I was very much mistaken! No matter what I do, they just keep dripping. A heap of teflon tape, very tight... leaks! To explain the setup. The main connection to the water paper is a tapered brass fitting that plugs up against the rolled end. I had problems with this connection as well, though it seemed a bit better after I annealed the end. As for the other ones, just endless drips. Slow, but leaks. The connection from the tap has a rubber seal inside, so that behaves as well.... All the other connection are just regular screw ins. Any thoughts? [ATTACH]92964[/ATTACH]
