flextrol 2 bladder working?

Not having much experience, I'm trying to figure out if the pressure tank (a small Flextrol 2) on the well water system is functioning. After a cycle of discharging and charging, It takes about 34 seconds to climb from 30 to 50 psi. Thank you!

How long your water system takes to come up in pressure has more to do with the output of your pump. All a pressure tank does is reduce the amount of on/off cycling the pump does.

Ah, okay. That's a bad test. I will find a few more suggestions for evaulating the tank and see what you guys think. Thanks again.

If you want to test your pressure tank turn off the breaker to your well and open a faucet and leave it open. Then go to the pressure tank and check it's air pressure. If it's zero or significantly low then the rubber bladder may be shot. Give the tank a shake or try to gently lift it. If it feels like it's full of water it might be bad. As a further test fill the tank with air to two psi less than your pump's cut in (turn on pressure) and let it sit for 30-60 minutes with the water pump still off and a faucet open. Then check the air pressure. If the pressure has dropped the bladder is shot and the tank needs to be replaced.
