hi im new to this forum . im having a problem with sewer gas from dried out basement drains . do you think its safe to cover them with 1 gallon zip loc bags filled with water as a temporary fix? i try to keep the drains filled with water, but my dehumidifier on hvac keeps drying them out.[/QUOTE]

Do the drains ever get used? If not there are plugs that you can put into the drains and would be more permenant but could be removed if ever needed.

You could also fill the traps with environmentally safe antifreeze.
