Remove iron stack vent

it's a 60's ranch, and I rented a cast iron pipe cutter to remove it. It worked great for the cast iron drain portions, but the 3" vent I found out is iron pipe. The cutter won't cut it after working at it for a long time.
How do I get this monster out of my house? It's prob only 16 feet of pipe. Would a metal cutoff grinder do it? Thing is, I can't cut the portion embedded in the bath wall. Can I run a new stack and leave this in the wall if I can chop off the top near the roof?

You can use a grinder with a cut off disk but be very careful. A sawsall is safer and you can purchase blades to cut cast iron. If it doesn't interfere with anything you can go with your plan b of leaving it in place and just disconnecting the portion that goes throught the roof.

I've used an angle grinder before on CI and it works well. Makes a mess - so wear a mask, and be sure to use eye and ear protection.

Saws all with a fine tooth Bi metal blade is the way to go.
Any grinder will be throwing sparks everywhere causing a fire hazard.
