Question Is water on floor from pipes, plumbing?

Is the water on the floor here from the pipes, plumbing? How do I tell? There is a picture where if you zoom in you should be able to see the water puddle. The rest of the pics go up the wall to the pipes on the wall and the ceiling. The pipes don't appear to be wet.

There is no zooming in and I can't see any water in your photos. Look closely or feel for wetness with your hand to find the source.

I hate to say it but if I lived in your house that copper would be polished up nice and shiny. That could be a gorgeous bit of sewer.

wrap a tissue around the pipe just above the floor and check the next day, if wet it's the pipes, if dry its coming from somewhere else.

I agree, that copper is a thing of the past!! They do not make it like that anymore!

Question More pics, more info about this water issue

The water is almost never there except when it has rained. I don't think it's the pipes. Here are a couple pics of the gutter flashing outside and a pipe of some kind on the roof outside almost directly above where the water gets on the floor inside in the basement bathroom.

Could these areas on the roof be the source of the water?

The vent stack is probably the first place to look, have you looked in the attic to see if there is any daylight or water stains on the pipe or around the pipe?

It is very possible that the vent pipe is leaking where it penetrates the roof.

So around the outside of the vent stack between it and the roof?

Yep, the also make slip on covers for vent stacks but that is a band aid, i;d try to find and fix the leak first!

Is that water on the floor near where the sewer pipe goes down through the concrete floor? If so, ground water could be coming up around the pipe from under the floor.

As others have said, I'd bet that it's the boot. Over time, the older rubber on the boot around the pipe gets hard and degrades, letting some water leak in around the pipe.

It would be a quick job for a roofer to replace the boot, or it can be a DIY project too if you want.

I'm not a roofer, but I don't really like the way the shingles were installed around the boot either. Makes me think it wasn't done 100% correctly.

I had the same issue with a plumbing flashing that was maybe 10 years old. Rain got past the flashing and followed the main stack all the way to the basement floor. Solved it with an Oatey Rain Collar.
