slab house piping

I have an odd smell under my kitchen sink on my slab house. There is a good 1/2 gap around the cupboard base where the pipe comes up from the floor. Should I seal the gap with Good Stuff or something like it? Not sure if that is where the smell is coming from or not.

The first think to do is to locate the source of the odor.

Sealing where the pipe comes thru the base cabinet will not stop an odor. It will continue to seep out under the cabinet. A more likely source of a smell is a problem with the vent line in the wall.

Hi, Check the easiest thing first. Look for leaks. Remove all the stuff under the sink and line the bottom with news paper. check for a few days. If it's leaking it will show up on the paper.
