There used to be a gas grill on my patio. When it was removed, someone severed the plastic gas line in the ground and then capped the fitting inside the house where it exited my basement cement foundation. Is there any reason to go to the trouble of digging down next to the foundation wall, knocking it out of the concrete and then plugging the hole with hydraulic cement? Since its cut on one end and capped on the other I say "no"... no water is leaking into the basement or anything either. However, my brother in law says its a liability since someone could uncap the end inside and rehook it up. Very unlikely of course. Would you go to the trouble of completely removing it?

I am occasionally getting smells from the bath drain plug. Both the sink and the bath connect to 2 p traps in the floor below. So, does this mean one could siphon the other? 1/ Do I add an AAV after the bath p trap (lower pipe in image) and then bring that pipe up and into the sink vanity? OR 2/ Can I direct the sink pipe (top one in image) and direct it into the bath pipe just before the p trap so both are using one? The block the top entrance of the tee on the left. Then no AAV needed since each will act a a wet vent for each other. [attach]100966[/attach]
