I am installing a fabricated shower stall in the basement. The cement is removed, the new trap is installed and now I need to know how to measure the new pipe connected to the new trap, so that it fits perfectly into the new drain in the shower base. Any suggestions?

trap will be in the dirt, extend your 2'' pipe up about 4 inches above grade, sit a coffee can over the pipe and replace the concrete. when concrete cures remove the can and cut the pipe off with an inside cutter belowe the concrete, how much will depend on the shower drain. get one with a flange and adjustable drain heigth. just tell the guy at the plumbing supply house you want a drain for use with a shower pan. pour your morter bed and go from there
